I’m a wife, a mother, and an extremely passionate wedding celebrant based in Dunedin. I love shoes, cheese and love in all its fabulous forms. I don’t care whether you’re black, white, green, boy, girl, or not sure, if you want to get married on the beach, elope, or in the back yard; if you’re in love, and want to commit your life and your heart to your soul mate, I’ll marry you (except if you’re already married, or related, because that’s just weird, and illegal)
I became a celebrant because I love love, and weddings, and people, and think outside the box, and I wanted to show couples that there are so many ways that you can celebrate your love and tie the knot. Your wedding day should be about you, your personalities and your love story, not about what Great Aunty Fanny thinks you should have (no disrespect to any Great Aunty Fanny’s out there).
Imagine if you were the first people ever to get married, or you had never been to a wedding before, how do you think it should look? What would you say to each other? Who would be involved? Let’s get together and have a chat about what you have planned and how I can help make your wedding ceremony a true reflection of you and your love, whatever that looks like. I also perform vow renewals, baby naming ceremonies and can MC your reception or event.
Fiona Sydney is a wedding celebrant from Central Otago. She has lived in Central Otago her entire life.
She is based in the heart of the province, allowing her to perform ceremonies in all surrounding areas – Alexandra, Cromwell, Clyde, Bannockburn, Omakau, Ranfurly and the Maniototo. She also travels to Queenstown, Arrowtown and Wanaka.
Fiona’s background is in working closely with CEOs. Event management experience ranges from weddings to events involving royalty and prime ministers. This means she understands attention to detail is the key to a great ceremony. She has a wide range of public speaking experiences and has written numerous communication documents – leaving her well equipped to create and perform ceremonies that perfectly reflect your personalities, values, culture and future together.
Whether you want a fresh, contemporary ceremony, one that honours tradition and/or pays homage to your culture or religion or a mix of it all, or something a little different (really, anything goes these days) get in touch with Fiona.

What being a Celebrant means to me – Glennys Logan – LIVELOVEWED
Being a Celebrant means that I get to spend every day working with couples in LOVE!!
I absolutely LOVE being a marriage celebrant (it’s a bit like being a Love Goddess!!)
For me it really is the BEST job in the whole world and I feel very, very lucky …..
From the very first contact I hear the exciting story on how they first met and the journey from that first meeting to the engagement day – full of joy, hopes, dreams and excitement as they start talking about their future life together as a team on life’s journey…
Then it is on to planning one of the biggest days in their life – Their wedding day!
As a Celebrant I see the couple’s wedding ceremony as being at the heart of the entire day – the most important commitment they will ever make to one another …..
We plan all the details for their unique and hand crafted ceremony – It is after all – all about their love for each other and their promises to one other …. I spend many hours making sure it is just perfect for the couple personalising every detail with a reflection of their personal style and beliefs until they are smiling from ear to ear (with a few happy tears) with the anticipation of their special day…… The couple’s ceremony should be personal and intimate, fresh and engaging – It should be a real, living, breathing moment…..
A rehearsal is booked, every detail is locked in and the day draws ever closer…..
On the wedding day I now have the chance to dress up and off to the wedding day I go in my trustee travel companion “Matilda”… I set up the ceremony sound and meet guests.
I spend time with the Groom making sure he is not too nervous!
The bridal party is arriving! We are all in place… the music begins and here comes the Bride!
The wedding day is about the couple, their family and guests and I want everyone coming away feeling like they have been part of something really, really special – I want the couple’s ceremony to be remembered years later….I love people coming together, making them smile and cry and laugh….
Being a Celebrant means I get to live my DREAM!
LIVE life to the fullest, LOVE with all your heart, WED fabulously! X

Whether you want to have a traditional, formal ceremony or a themed, individual ceremony or something in between I am very happy to make that happen for you. The options for ceremonies are endless and only restricted by your imagination.
